The Digest’s Valentine’s Day 2019 Picks

by Staff

One of the greatest things about New Jersey is its booming food scene. And when it comes to Valentine’s Day, there’s no better place to book a reservation than in Hudson County. From Tiki-inspired cocktails to four-course tasting menus, check out what some of our favorite Valentine’s Day 2019 hotspots are offering for Valentine’s Day dinner next Thursday.

Halifax

If you love a Hudson River view, than look no further than Halifax. Keeping with their “land and sea” themed cuisine, Hoboken’s waterfront restaurant will be serving a four-course tasting menu for $79 per person with an option for wine pairings for just an additional $29 each. Menu highlights include Beef Tenderloin Roulade and local Seabream for dinner, Hazelnut Chocolate Mousse for dessert.

Cellar 335

Our favorite Tiki-style restaurant is perfect for drinks and dinner on any night. On Valentine’s Day, however, no venue could be more ideal. With the fun dinner lighting, wall murals by Mr. MustArt, shareable plates and large format rum drinks, Cellar 335 is tailor-made for an intimate dinner for two.

Bin 14

The Hoboken wine bar has been the town’s go-to date spot for a long time now. Pair great vino with a menu built by the chefs of Anthony David’s, and this spot is designed perfectly for the romantic holiday. View their three-course tasting menu and reserve here for Valentine’s Day 2019.

Time slots for the $65 meal are 6 p.m., 7:35 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

The Kitchen Step

One of local Chef Ryan DePersio’s greatest accomplishments, The Kitchen Step has quickly become one of Jersey City’s most intimate dining settings. Tucked over in Van Vorst Park, Step will be offering a three-course menu at $75 per person with wine pairings at $35 and cocktails for two at $30. Highlights include a King Ora Salmon Crudo and a Roasted Red Beet Cavatelli.

Frankie

One of Jersey City’s newest (and hippest) restaurants, Frankie pairs natural wine with an Australian-inspired cuisine. On Valentine’s Day, from 5p.m. to 10p.m., Frankie will be serving an optional prix fixe menu for two at $65, with an au naturel wine flight for $15 and complimentary sparkling.

Anthony David’s

A local BYO favorite, Anthony David’s is very well-known for Chef Anthony Pino’s creative takes on Italian. For Valentine’s Day 2019, they are offering a three-course candlelight dinner for $75 per person from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m, offering options like Grilled Octopus with Cannellini Ragu, Wild Boar Ragu, and a Chocolate Lava Cake.
