Unique Vibes and Flavor at The Bonefish Grill in Secaucus:

As a new resident of New Jersey, most days I feel as if I am in “food heaven.”  With a diner on every corner, and new restaurants opening at an electric pace, I tend to shy away from the “chain” restaurants that were readily available in my hometown. After all, how can the quality and ambience compare to a local or independent restaurant? However, after a recent visit to Bonefish Grill my perspective has completely changed.

With locations throughout the U.S., each restaurant has it’s own unique vibe and flavor. Once I entered The Bonefish Grill in Secaucus, I felt as if was in the SoHo

District.  The restaurant has a perfect blend of city charm with a “Virgin Island feel” thanks to Managing Partner Max Bartolomeo, who helped redesign the new and refreshed look of the space.

After being seated, we were offered with some of Bonefish’s signature drinks.  The Ocean Trust Tropic Heat Martini and Wild Orchid Hawaiian Martini were hands-down the favorite for the table.  And then it was on the appetizers!  No visit to Bonefish Grill would be complete without starting with their Bang Bang Shrimp appetizer.  The shrimp had just the right amount of flavor and spice, and seemed to be piled high to the ceiling.  The Ahi Tuna Sashimi appetizer was equally incredible, and is certainly another starter not to be missed.

For the main course, the wood-burning grill produced a perfectly cooked and seasoned Filet.  Yet, how can you dine at a restaurant called “Bonefish” and not try some of their seafood?  We learned that all of the fish at the grill is hand cut daily by the Bonefish Grill in Secaucusmanagement team, and the freshness permeated throughout each bite.  The Atlantic Salmon was flawlessly mild and moist, and appeared to swim upstream just to arrive at our table.  The Chilean Sea Bass literally melted in our mouth with flavor.  It was delicious enough to persuade our carnivorous friend to drop his steak knife in favor of an extra fork.

The portions were perfect, so of course we had just enough room for dessert.  My sweet tooth was satisfied by the Macadamia Nut Brownie, a warm flourless brownie with vanilla ice cream dripping on top. To finish it off, we had to try the doughnuts which were served warm and tossed in cinnamon sugar. Delicious!

Bonefish Grill in SecaucusIf there is one thing I can say with utter confidence, it’s that Bonefish Grill in Secaucus completely changed my opinion of a “chain restaurant experience.”  If you haven’t paid them a visit, you just might be missing out.  After all, aren’t you just a bit tired of that same old restaurant you’ve been going to every weekend!
