It’s around that time of the year where mornings are becoming brisk and summer is coming to a close. That means the All About Downtown Street Fair in Jersey City is right around the corner ready to end the summer right! One of the most anticipated and largest outdoor community events in town is just a few days away, here’s what you can expect:
This Saturday, September 16th from noon to 8 p.m., you and the entire family can enjoy delicious food, custom products, and live entertainment from over 250 vendors. The fair takes place on Newark Ave extending from Grove Street to Coles Street– that’s three blocks of fun! Aside from four stages of live performances, there will also be a designated area just for the kids where they can enjoy rides, games, and face painting. The event concludes with an amazing Grassroots Drum Parade where everyone is encouraged to join in and make some noise.
The All About Downtown Street Fair began in 2011, featuring vendors all over the community sharing their unique products ranging from handmade jewelry to clothing, artwork, and more. This event was initially designed to encourage people to explore downtown Jersey City and support local stores.
Although the weather is projected to be partly cloudy with a slight chance of a rain shower and some humidity, we’re expecting things to hold up (just be sure to check the weather before you head out on Saturday).

This year, the Historic Downtown Special Improvement District (SID) is teaming up with Day Trippers NJ to provide FREE shuttle service to and from the fair from various areas of Jersey City. No need to waste precious time hunting for parking when you could be munching on some tasty food or browsing through creative vendors! The pickup and drop-off locations below are listed in the order of the stops:
– Pavonia / Newport PATH Plaza
– Riverview Park – Palisade and Bowers
– 232 Central Ave – Near Stop and Shop
– 1 Journal Square PATH Plaza
– JFK Blvd + Kensington – Lincoln Park
– 2039 JFK Blvd – outside NJCU
– Bethune Center – 140 Martin Luther King Dr.
– Pacific Ave at the corner of Communipaw
