Local Filmmaker Premieres Movie Shot in Hoboken and Jersey City
The Last American Guido is an independent film by Vito LaBruno that was shot in Hoboken, Jersey City, Bayonne, Nutley and Maywood. Tommy Lasurdo, a middle-aged, ex-Jersey nightlife fiend and deli owner has been out of the game for some time, but when he finds out his fiancee cheated on him, he’s forced back into his old lifestyle. With his receding hairline and faded fashion, he finds himself a little behind the times as he struggles to return to the batchelor he once was.
LaBruno is a screenwriter, producer and director who has created successful short films like Business is Dead and The Pope of Jersey City, so it’s no surprise the August 1 premiere of The Last American Guido is a sold out show. Don’t let that put a knot in your gold chain — there are more shows to come.
