The success of Ani Ramen in the Garden State is impossible to ignore. Ani has become an NJ staple with nine locations—its latest being Princeton. The newest location in historic Princeton, New Jersey, is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner like the rest of their locations, but on weekends, Ani Princeton is cooking up something special.
On weekends, Ani Princeton features a brunch menu that offers fun options representing a mixture of Jersey classics and Japanese favorites. The brunch menu features three items. Between the three are an array of flavors: Sweet, creamy, crunchy, meaty, and of course, fluffy.
So what are these dishes?
It starts with the Jersey Breakfast Bao. This fun representation of our home state was spot on with steamed buns loaded with Taylor Ham (sorry south Jersey), fried eggs, American cheese, and drizzled with ketchup. Bringing these flavors together was nothing short of the classic Sunday morning bagel, but now encased in a Bao. This made it softer, fluffier, and really enjoyable.
Moving on to my favorite of the three, the Crispy Buttermilk Chicken Sandwich, served with Nori crisps. The chicken is fried to perfection—crispy on the outside and so juicy on the inside. The deliciousness continues with a smear of yuzu aioli on a potato bun alongside an herb cabbage slaw. Biting into the potato bun, the ingredients unite to make a mouth-watering chicken sandwich.
The fun journey concludes with Funfetti Matcha Pancakes. Sprinkles and green tea powdered sugar cover the pancakes. On the side, instead of maple syrup, is a matcha glaze that is both sweet and earthy. The colorful batch will brighten your weekend and make life more fun.
Nassau Street in Princeton is no stranger to brunch, but now it has a whole new vibe thanks to Ani Ramen. Although it is a go-to for lunch and dinner, diners shouldn’t overlook Ani for their next weekend brunch outing.
