Jumpin’ NYC Event: Pogopalooza Pogo Stick Competition

Pogopalooza, the professional pogo stick competition now in its tenth year, will jump off (pun intended) next weekend in NYC. During the 3-day palooza, 50 top athletes will bounce around the city on 10 different courses leading up to the final event on day three. The craziness starts on Day 1 with Pogo-stickers holding pop-up expeditions across the city. Then on Day 2 competitors will attempt to break previous pogo records and qualify for the main event with their high jumps and other tricks. On Day 3, the finalists will go head-to-head to win the gold, silver and bronze medals.

I thought I was cool doing back flips into my pool every summer, but after seeing this, I may have to re-evaluate my definition of cool….. These athletes are bustin’ out back flips, front flips, 23 miles of consecutive jumping, and more crazy record-breaking stunts. Bring the fam, friends and daredevils. You don’t wanna miss it.

Schedule:

July 26 – Pop-up Expeditions all day (Manhattan & Brooklyn)

July 27 – Open Qualifiers World Record Day 1-5 p.m (East Village, Tompkins Square Park, 10th St. & Ave. A)

July 28 – Main Event 1-5 p.m (Union Square North Plaza, 17th St. between Broadway & Park Ave.)
