If you haven’t checked pumpkin picking off your fall bucket list yet, this weekend might be the perfect time to do it! And if you’re looking for something a little more exciting than simply picking out a pumpkin, Heaven Hill Farm in Vernon, New Jersey, has you covered.

The farm’s annual Great Pumpkin Festival is in full swing, offering more than 35 family-friendly outdoor activities, seasonal treats, entertainment, and plenty of opportunities to make some fall memories.

And with Halloween just around the corner, this weekend brings a little extra fun!

More Than Just a Pumpkin Patch

There’s something special about spending an October afternoon on a farm. The changing leaves, crisp autumn air, the smell of apple cider donuts, and, of course, pumpkins everywhere.

At Heaven Hill Farm, visitors can hop aboard a scenic hayride to the pumpkin patch, explore a corn maze celebrating America’s 250th anniversary, visit farm animals, and take part in all sorts of outdoor adventures.

But this isn’t your typical quiet afternoon at the pumpkin patch.

There are pig races to cheer on, the popular Dynamo Dogs stunt show, pedal cars, a giant straw pyramid, obstacle courses, a giant slingshot, and even a Boo Barn for a little Halloween spirit.

With so many activities included in admission, families can easily spend several hours exploring the farm, enjoying the entertainment, and letting the kids burn off some energy.

A Little Extra Halloween Fun This Weekend

With Halloween just a week away, Heaven Hill Farm is adding some special activities to the festivities.

On Saturday, October 24, and Sunday, October 25, from noon to 3 p.m., visitors can enjoy the farm’s Trick or Treat Trail. There’s also a costume contest on Saturday at 1 p.m., giving kids another opportunity to show off their Halloween costumes before the big night.

The festival will also feature its full selection of carnival rides this weekend, along with the Dynamo Dogs shows and pig races.

It’s a great opportunity to get the family together, put on those costumes, and enjoy a day outdoors before Halloween arrives.

Come Hungry, It’s Part of the Experience

Is it really a fall festival without apple cider donuts?

Heaven Hill Farm offers plenty of seasonal favorites, including freshly made apple cider donuts, candy apples, homemade kettle corn, fresh-baked pies, chocolates, and other treats.

Food stands offer additional options for visitors looking to make a full afternoon of their visit.

And before heading home, take some time to browse the farm market and seasonal displays, where you’ll find pumpkins, gourds, mums, and other fall favorites.

Whether you’re decorating your front porch, preparing for Halloween, or just looking to bring a little autumn home with you, there’s plenty to choose from.

Making Memories Close to Home

One of the best things about living in New Jersey is the variety of experiences available within a relatively short drive. From our downtown shops and restaurants to family farms and seasonal festivals, there’s always something happening if you know where to look.

Events like the Great Pumpkin Festival are a wonderful reminder that you don’t have to travel far to create a memorable day with family and friends.

Sometimes all it takes is a hayride, a few pumpkins, a warm apple cider donut, and a little friendly competition cheering on the pigs!

So gather the kids, invite some friends, and enjoy a little fall fun in the Garden State this weekend.
