It’s hard to hear “Food Network” without correlating it to one of the most famous TV personalities in America, Guy Fieri. The famous restaurateur is best known for his programs including “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives” and “Guy’s Family Feast,” after winning “The Next Food Network Star” in 2006. As someone who already mastered the classic brick-and-mortar restaurant, Fieri now looks to the future of food distribution. For starters, he recently introduced New Jersey to the concept of “ghost kitchens.” These delivery-only restaurants, called Guy Fieri’s Flavortown Kitchen, come in hopes to bring some of the best flavors from the big screen right into homes in NJ.
What is a Ghost Kitchen?
With minimal start-up costs and unlimited growth potential, ghost kitchens have become increasingly popular among entrepreneurs and chefs alike. Ghost kitchens stand out through their operation; rather than dining in, they opt as a delivery-only restaurant. This means no waiting in lines, no ordering in person, and no dining in. Everything works from a third-party delivery app (GrubHub, UberEats) and then heads straight to your front door.
Ghost kitchens recently made it big because of the pandemic, solving the problem of keeping restaurants in business. While most restaurants are struggling to figure out what dining will look like for the future, ghost kitchens offer a solution. By being a delivery-only food service, these restaurants ensure safety for both their employees and customers. Not to mention, ghost kitchens are extremely cost-efficient for the restaurant owners themselves.
Where in NJ Can We Find Them?
Fieri’s ghost kitchens have four separate locations in New Jersey, including one in Cherry Hill, two locations in Marlton, and one in Gloucester. Each location is connected within Buca di Beppo, Bertucci’s, or Brio, as well as other food spots associated with the Florida-based Earl Enterprises. Because the pandemic has pushed restaurants out of their comfort zones and onto new ideas, Fieri is one of many who have figured out how to keep the food industry moving.
What Can We Expect?
Though the menu may be limited, it’s packed with Fieri’s promise of flavor. In true Guy Fieri fashion, these Flavortown Kitchens offer his famous “flavored-blasted” Americana cuisine. This includes his Jalapeno Pig Poppers, stacked hamburgers, and plenty of salads and sides to mix and match. Reviews conclude that not only is it a cool concept, but it follows COVID-19 guidelines and makes ordering out fun.
Time To Try Something New
If you’re a big fan of ordering in and you like trying new things, it’s time to test out one of Fieri’s ghost kitchens. Not only do you have the chance to see what a ghost kitchen is all about, but you finally get the chance to taste some of the food you’ve seen on TV episode after episode. The best part? You still don’t have to leave your couch.
