Mountain Creek is Better Than Ever!

Lmountain creekiving in the Northeast, you can only hope for a blizzard to start the winter ski season.  If you’re a snowboarder like myself, it can be quite a challenge to find good riding conditions without having to venture out of state. But when mother nature dumps over two feet of snow, the local mountains have a whole new appeal! So, like many others, I packed up my Jeep on Sunday morning and headed to Mountain Creek in Vernon, New Jersey.

After plowing through the two foot wall of snow at the bottom of my driveway, the rest of the drive up was easy. Although I live right outside of NYC, I found myself at the base of the mountain in less than an hour. Personally, I’ve never seen conditions like this in all my years riding at Mountain Creek.  It looks like there will be enough snow to make for a great season!

Whether you are an experienced rider, skier, or just bringing the little ones for snow tubing, Mountain Creek is hands down the best place to be for a day trip, or the whole weekend.

With over 40 groomed trails, and a base of over a foot of fresh powder,  it’s looking like the perfect year to pick up a season pass and ride all winter long. Did I mention the variety of restaurants/ bars to grab a warm meal or a nice cold beverage?

For the first time in years, I’m actually getting excited about snowboarding in the Northeast.  Regardless of what mother nature decides to bring, I know the conditions at Mountain Creek will be amazing.  I plan on heading up again this weekend for round two, at the only Mountain right in our backyard.

Mountain Creek is located at 200 Route 94, Vernon Township, NJ 07462
