1. Cherry Grove Fishing Pier

The Cherry Grove Fishing Pier allows you to catch fresh fish on your own for the day. There are many records both on the world and state-level that were set for fishing on reel and rods. The massive tiger shark got caught in 1960 on the same pier. It measures around 20 feet and weighs close to a ton.

The bait-and-tackle store keeps all the gears required to spend the day fishing with all the necessary permits and licenses. You can enjoy watching others fishing in a bar or a seafood restaurant. A walk over the Atlantic Ocean will cost you a small fee. It is worth every penny as you enjoy the cool breeze of the ocean.

2. Brookgreen Gardens

The Brookgreen Gardens is South Carolina’s Lowcountry’s beauty. It is a property spread across 9,100 acres and is around 15 miles to the south of Myrtle Beach. As a visitor, you can walk through many flowers, fountains, and sculptures. And if you feel like taking a break, the best is to rest under the shade of a huge live oak tree.

Brookgreen Garden was once famous for its rice plantation. But today you can enjoy boat rides too. It also has a zoo where you will find birds, alligators, and several creatures that are the origins of South Carolina. 

A newly built pavilion for butterflies offers the visitors to get acquainted with a variety of butterflies. You get to experience nature at its best in the Lowcountry.

3. Myrtle Waves Water Park

Beat the summer heat by visiting the Myrtle Waves Water Park, considered the largest water park of South Carolina. The water park consists of over thirty different rides and water slides for the entire family. It is a twenty-acre park featuring water slides, a towering, massive wave pool, and twisting. Also, there is an aquatic playground for children that guarantees smiles on their faces. They enjoy being in water in the hot sun.

For kids, it is the ride and water slides that keep them busy. But if you are the older set, you have the lazy river to relax or the wave pool to enjoy a float ride. A private cabana is available for rent for the entire family to chill out and enjoy a picnic with their loved ones.

4. Family Kingdom

After the closure of Old Pavilion, the only left-out oceanfront amusement park in Myrtle Beach is the Family Kingdom. Instead of taking advantage of monopoly, the Family Kingdom extended its wing into a dual attraction in one. A new roller coaster got introduced in the amusement park with a well-known Swamp Fox. Also, it has close to thirty fun rides that offer fear and fun, attracting most family members.

The water park is located on the beach and has many flumes, wave pools, and slides. The best time to visit the park is between March to September. There can be slight variations in timings, so always call ahead. The water park gates are opened from Memorial Day to Labor Day every day. The timings are from 10 am to 6 pm.

5. The Beach Broadway

Broadway is a versatile complex that has everything ranging from shopping and dining to entertainment on the Grand Strand. The top attractions of Broadway are Ripley’s Aquarium and WonderWorks. There are many businesses on Broadway that surround a large lake. In Celebrity Square you will get many clubs offering you the best nightlife.

There are many restaurants in town that give you a great dining experience. Major national outlets comprising local stores are available offering you the best of shopping.
