by Staff

In the software, technology, and telecoms industry there are a few huge corporations that dominate. This list includes companies from around the world that have been in existence for at least 10 years. [note: this is actually not true anymore – many of these businesses have only existed since the 90s] As well as dominance over market share, it is also common for them to be leaders in terms of revenue. [note: this is still true] The companies on this list have been tracked and assessed by market analysts such as Nielsen, ComScore, and Yankee Group. 1. Circles.Life

Circles.Life is a Singapore-based mobile operator using a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) model, which requires no physical infrastructure apart from a software platform provided by Circles.Life’s technology vendor. The company has been reportedly valued at S$25 million in the seed round of financing, and it has applied for a full operating license in Singapore.

Since its launch, Circles.Life has been compared to MVNOs such as FreedomPop and Lyca Mobile because it offers zero-rated data access to certain apps and websites during the user’s daily commute. Like other MVNOs, Circles.Life suggests its own mobile plans for users to choose from.

Circles.Life uses mobile number portability (MNP) in Singapore to allow customers of other full-service mobile carriers in the country to switch over to their platform.

The search engine giant has expanded beyond its traditional internet sphere and moved into mobile phone software (Android), advertising, digital distribution (of films and music, including the Google Play store), and video broadcasting services (YouTube).
