New York Ranked Worst City for Dating in the U.S.

by Staff

New York City has been ranked the worst city for dating in the United States, according to a recent survey by FetishFinder. The study analyzed data from the 20 largest U.S. cities based on six key factors: the population of single individuals, likelihood of marriage, annual divorce rate, rate of individuals actively seeking relationships, quality of life, and cost of living.

While New York boasts the highest population of singles, it falls short in nearly all other metrics. The report highlights the city’s high cost of living, low quality of life, and significant divorce rates as contributing factors to its poor dating landscape. Notably, despite a large number of singles, New York has the lowest rate of individuals actively searching for a relationship.

The dating scene in the Big Apple has long been characterized as “cutthroat,” with many singles feeling overwhelmed by the options but ultimately frustrated by the lack of commitment. Anecdotes from local daters reveal high expectations, with some stating they would only consider partners who meet lofty standards.

Seattle was identified as the best city for dating, followed by Denver, Dallas, Indianapolis, and Austin. Other cities joining New York at the bottom of the list include Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Chicago, and San Antonio.

The findings reflect a broader sentiment among New Yorkers, who have lamented the challenges of finding love in what is often considered one of the greatest cities in the world.
