Did you know that there are different types of wine? I’m not talking about red versus white or your favorite pinot noir variety but Industrial, Organic, Biodynamic and Natural. I’ll leave the explaining up to the experts—that being veteran sommelier Chris Leo of PS Wine Bar Jersey City.
Located inside The Pet Shop (just down the stairs), PS Wine Bar is a hub for live music, good food and more importantly, interesting wines. This Sunday (January 14th) Leo will be hosting an introductory wine course where guests get to sample seven different handpicked offerings, as well as food from the kitchen. At PS Wine Bar, they’re sourcing their selection from small wineries around the world, many of which you probably haven’t heard of or tasted before.
“These are farmers with their hands in the dirt who are the salt of the earth, and they’re being ignored by most upscale restaurants,” Leo told nj.com.
The event will take place from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. and Leo will go through the natural wine-making process: what it is, how it’s produced and why natural wine is potentially better for you and the environment.
Tickets are limited and go for $50. To get yours, visit The Pet Shop, PS Wine Bar or purchase them on Eventbrite.
