The Montclair Film Festival is returning on October 20 and will run until October 29. It is the festival’s 12th year running. For over a decade, the Montclair Film Festival has provided support and exposure for emerging names in film.
The 12th edition of the Montclair Film Festival presents a diverse selection of fresh releases, comedic gems, insightful documentaries, family-friendly features, and creations by up-and-coming filmmakers. Notable attractions include engaging discussions with directors and actors following screenings, along with star-studded panel conversations moderated by Montclair’s very own Stephen Colbert.
The festival will begin with the screening of “Dream Scenario,” starring Nicolas Cage as the lead—many note that it is one of his best performances to date.
On Friday, October 27, at NJPAC, Martin Scorsese will join Colbert for a conversation on film. The directorial titan is often considered by many to be among the greatest filmmakers in the world. Scorsese’s recent epic, “Killers of the Flower Moon,” will be released on October 20 and premiered earlier this year at the Cannes Film Festival. The discussion begins at 8:00 p.m.
Tickets are still available for Colbert’s panel tribute to Scorsese.
The Montclair Film Festival will be held across five venues: NJPAC, Cinema 505, the Claridge, Montclair Kimberley Academy and the Wellmont. The full festival program and additional information about each venue’s screenings can be found here.
