by Tom Lavecchia

In a memorable evening, NJ Digest hosted an exclusive rooftop viewing of The Bastard Sons at The Asbury Hotel’s Baronet Rooftop. The event brought together a talented group of individuals from the film industry, entrepreneurship, and influencer circles to celebrate the breakout gangster flick of 2024.

A Star-Studded Affair

The evening’s guest list was a who’s who of the film industry. Kevin Interdonato, the multi-talented director, lead actor, and producer of The Bastard Sons, attended the event. Interdonato’s passion project has taken the NJ film scene by storm, and his presence was met with enthusiasm from fans and industry insiders alike.

Also in attendance was UFC legend and actor Frankie Edgar, who made his acting debut in the film. Edgar’s transition from the octagon to the big screen has been seamless, and his involvement in the film has garnered significant attention. Joseph Sernio, a New Jersey-based entrepreneur and actor who appeared in the film, mingled with guests and shared stories about his experience working on the project. Andrea Giovino, known for her role in Get Gotti, added to the evening’s glamour.

Michael Scivoli, Editor-In-Chief of New Jersey Digest, played host to the evening’s festivities, ensuring that guests had a memorable experience. Prominent influencer and food reviewer Josh Berman also attended, sharing his thoughts on the film and the event. Accomplished actress Amanda Clayton, wife of Kevin Interdonato, was present, as was Roger Matthews, an actor in The Bastard Sons and a legacy cast member of Jersey Shore.

The Film: A Jersey-Based Breakout Hit

The Bastard Sons tells the story of Vince Damiano, a man driven by a quest for revenge after his father’s tragic death. The film’s twist ending has left audiences reeling, and its success has cemented its place as one of New Jersey’s most talked-about independent films this year. Vertical Entertainment’s distribution of the film has brought it to a wider audience, and its Jersey roots have made it a source of pride for the Garden State’s film community.

A Night of Food, Drinks and Entertainment

Guests enjoyed stunning views of the Asbury Park shoreline while indulging in delicious pizza courtesy of The Galley Pizza and fresh espresso from Espresso Mio. Additionally, a bar featuring Bellemara Distillery’s signature whisky and gin dished out cocktails all night long. The atmosphere was electric, with the excitement of the film’s success palpable among the attendees.
