Long Branch is the latest New Jersey city to get a film studio. But this one isn’t built for Hollywood.
Unlimited Studios opens June 20 at 122 Myrtle Ave in Long Branch, becoming the first major film and television production facility to establish a permanent location in the city. The 3,000-square-foot space is designed with indie films at the top of mind, offering a cyclorama wall large enough to accommodate vehicles, a four-seat podcast room, and a full post-production suite. Camera and lighting rentals, high-speed connectivity, and on-site parking are also available.
The studio provides production support services including access to local crew and guidance on New Jersey’s film incentive programs.
The opening comes as major film production companies pour billions into studio infrastructure across the state.
Netflix is redeveloping the former Fort Monmouth military base in Oceanport and Eatontown into a sprawling production campus—a nearly $1 billion project. Paramount is developing in Bayonne and Lionsgate in Newark.
New Jersey’s film tax incentives—covering up to 40% of qualified production expenses—are driving much of the investment, according to NJ.com.
Unlimited Studios co-founder Madison Santos framed the Long Branch opening as a counterpoint to the megastudio wave. “The headlines are about the giants, but the industry rising in New Jersey needs studios in its towns, not just on its skyline,” Santos said. “Long Branch is now part of that story.”
Co-founder Coleman Wilson echoed the sentiment, according to WBJB. “With the giants moving in up the road, this is the moment to give our community a seat at the table—and a stage of its own,” Wilson said.
To mark the opening, Unlimited Studios will host a free public grand opening and red-carpet networking event on Saturday, June 20 at 3 p.m. The event, presented with the Garden State Film Festival and the New Jersey Film Academy, will feature industry networking, headshot opportunities, an art gallery showcasing local artists, and food trucks.
