The Mile Square City plans to get a lot cheesier this upcoming April. For the third year in a row, Hoboken Happy Hours and Party With Purpose are teaming up to bring back the Mac & Cheese Festival in Hoboken, NJ. You can think of the event as a bar crawl, but in a food-related format. Instead of honoring local bars, this comfort food affair will commend local Hoboken restaurants. On April 9, 2022, food enthusiasts will be able to enjoy all the mac & cheese this festival has to offer.

What to Expect at the Hoboken Mac & Cheese Festival

There will be several local restaurants participating in the festival including Alessio’s, Imposto’s Pizza, Madd Hatter, Myron Mixon’s Pitmaster Barbeque, Quality Greens and Tony Boloney’s. If you plan on attending, definitely save room for some dessert because Ben & Jerry’s will also be partaking in the event by giving out a complimentary sweet treat. The festival is set to start at 1 p.m. and end at 5 p.m. Prior to attending the event, you will be receiving a designated check-in location. Once you arrive at your specific check-in area, punch cards will be provided. Check-in time will end at 3 p.m.

To avoid overcrowding, the event will give everyone a specific location where they can start the festival. Event volunteers will be found at each of the participating restaurants. They will be in charge of punching your card and be able to assist with any questions attendees may have. The event advises that people shouldn’t congregate in large groups outside each restaurant. If there are too many people in a line, it is recommended to head over to another less crowded area.

The event will take place rain or shine. Also, restaurants may have limited seating, so it’s advised that attendees should not sit at a table unless they are purchasing additional food and/or drinks. With the festival taking place in Hoboken, you are at liberty to enjoy the neighborhood by walking around all while enjoying your mac and cheese.

Although the event ends at 5 p.m., the fun doesn’t stop there. The Stewed Cow in Hoboken will be hosting an after party from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. They will be having exclusive Hoboken Mac & Cheese Festival drink specials. All you need to do is show the punch card to a server or bartender to qualify for the specials.

How To Buy Tickets

Tickets are officially available via the event’s Eventbrite website. People of all ages are welcomed at this cheese-filled exhibition. Tickets will cost $12 per child. On the other hand, adults will have to pay $35. Each ticket includes a sample of mac and cheese from each of the participating restaurants, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to one of the event’s coordinators, Party With Purpose; a Hoboken-based non-profit organization that supports children’s charities.

Additionally, exclusive Hoboken Mac & Cheese Festival T-shirts are available to purchase. You can buy them as an add-on along with your ticket. These shirts will be given out on the day of the event.
