The burger joint Marty’s became an instant hit in Fort Lee back in September 2020. Now, it has officially made its way to the Jersey City Heights area. It opened its doors this week to serve the community on Jan. 22, 2022. Marty’s new location is where previous restaurant Firehouse Blazing Pizza once was. However, the restaurant shut its doors in April 2021. Now with Marty’s in Jersey City, it will for sure be the new go-to burger spot on the block.

What We Know

The burger joint explains on their website that, “We cook and prepare your burgers the old-fashioned way, never frozen and never pre-packed.” The highlight of the restaurant’s menu are their burgers and signature fries. Something to take note of is that customers even have the opportunity of customizing their burger.

Let’s Talk Food!

If you wish to customize your burger, the choice of meat is a five-and-a-half-ounce premium beef patty. However, you get more options for the burger add-ons. Some options include avocado, pickled spicy peppers, sautéed onions, or a fried egg. There is also a variety of cheese to choose from: swiss, pepper jack, vegan and cheddar. Besides customizable burgers, Marty’s has a variety of different signature burgers to try out.

The “Swiss Shroom Dijon” burger is a swiss cheeseburger filled with sautéed onions and mushrooms topped with Dijon mustard. Next, for any spicy food lovers out there, “The Jalapeno” will satisfy your taste buds. It is a pepper jack cheeseburger topped with bacon, jalapenos, pickled spicy peppers and pickles. Each of these signature burger choices are all served with their house sauce. Besides burgers, Marty’s offers three different sandwich options. They have the “Crispy Fried Chicken,” “Grilled Cheese” and “Griddle Dog.”

Of course, no burger is complete without a side of fries. Which is why they have their specialty hand-cut fries made with 100 percent peanut oil. They have six different fry options to choose from: original, salt and vinegar, disco fries, truffle parmesan, old bay and cheese fries. After indulging in salty foods, getting something sweet would be a great idea to satisfy your taste buds. Customers can get Marty’s 16-ounce milkshakes in three different flavors: strawberry, vanilla and chocolate.

You can visit the new Marty’s Jersey City location at 488 Central Ave. It is open from Tuesdays to Sundays from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Take out, delivery and dine in options are available at the restaurant.
