Live Nation Ruled To Send Free Tickets To PNC Concert Goers

by Lauren Scrudato

If you attended a concert at PNC Bank Arts Center between June 2003 and June 2011, you may be able to receive three lawn seat tickets for a future show of your choice on the house.

A 2009 lawsuit against Live Nation, the live-events company that promotes and sells tickets for concerts and events around the country, ended in a settlement approved by U.S. District Court Judge Douglas Arpert recently.

The suit claimed that Live Nation was deceitful and unlawful by adding on a $6 parking fee to tickets purchased for shows at PNC between 2003 and 2011, regardless of whether or not the purchaser planned on parking at the venue.

Any concert attendee during the mentioned time frame who files a claim and is approved will get three lawn seats for a show taking place at PNC in the next four years, along with a $5 discount for future purchases.

You will know if you are eligible if you received an email or letter from Live Nation explaining the deal. To file a claim, go to livenationsettlement.com

For many, the ruling may have come at the ideal time as many artists and bands are just announcing dates for their 2014 summer tours.

While customers will reap the benefits, Live Nation will be taking a big hit. A report from nj.com says that about 363,000 people could be awarded tickets and Live Nation may lose $38 million in revenue if every person who is eligible applies and gets approved.
