Getting the right care can make all the difference, but knowing which hospital to choose is not always simple. To help guide those seeking care, Newsweek just released its America’s Best-in-State Hospitals 2026 list, ranking hospitals on care quality, patient experience, and reputation among medical professionals. 11 of those hospitals are right here in New Jersey.
The ranking, developed with global data firm Statista, looked at more than 6,000 hospitals nationwide and recognized 800 for consistently high performance. Here are the New Jersey hospitals that made the list:
New Jersey’s Best-in-State Hospitals for 2026:
- Morristown Medical Center – Morristown
- Hackensack University Medical Center – Hackensack
- Englewood Hospital and Medical Center – Englewood
- Overlook Medical Center – Summit
- Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital – New Brunswick
- Cooper University Hospital – Camden
- Saint Peter’s University Hospital – New Brunswick
- Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center – Plainsboro
- Monmouth Medical Center – Long Branch
- The Valley Hospital – Paramus
- Holy Name Medical Center – Teaneck
Holy Name Medical Center is the only newcomer this year, joining ten returning facilities from 2025.
According to Newsweek, these hospitals stood out for strong results, safe care, and a focus on the overall experience of those receiving treatment.
For New Jersey residents, it’s a reminder that top tier care is available close to home, from community hospitals along the Shore to major medical centers in New Brunswick. Some of the nation’s best care does not require leaving the state.
