The closer to St. Patty’s Weekend we get, the more green, white and orange flags start waving from apartment windows. That can only mean one thing– everyone is embracing their inner (or nonexistent) Irish roots this weekend.
Here’s what’s going on for St. Patrick's Day Weekend in Hudson County:
Round 2 of Hoboken’s St. Patrick’s Day Celebration & Pub Crawl
If you think Hoboken residents already drank their share of green beer in the beginning of the month, think again.
Starting today, this pub crawl will continue through tomorrow, and then again on Monday to celebrate the holiday’s true day of celebration. Today is also your last chance to grab tickets at URedeem.com. Use redemption code BESTNJHOB3 for free tickets.
Food and Drink Specials At Both Park and Sixth Locations.
Sunday is the day to go to Park and Sixth. Chow down on the Irish classics – corned beef, cabbage, and potatoes, either as a sandwich or platter with a perfectly poured Guinness for just $15. Or put some hair on the dog and just shoot down $4 Jameson shots.
In addition to the festivities, the Grove St. location will still have its weekly Rib Night and the Gastropub is still promoting their wonderful Lobster Clambake.
Jersey City Parade
Jersey City’s St. Patty’s parade will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday in Lincoln Park. The route will continue to Journal Square along Kennedy Boulevard. Plenty of people will be honored, like the Irish Man and Woman of the Year, along with Irish Police Officer and Firefighter of the Year, and basically any other title you can put “Irish” in front of.
For more information, contact Maureen Hulings at [email protected] or 201-521-0200.
Willie McBride’s Irish Fare
If you’re a real trooper and can survive another day of drinking in the name of the Irish by Monday, God bless. Willie McBride’s will have Irish tunes blasting all day. And if you’re not sick of corn beef and cabbage, get your fix in while you still can.
Powerhouse Lounge Re-Launch
Powerhouse was closed earlier this week to work on some upgrades, but plans to re-launch their services on St. Patrick's Day. The upgrades you may want to check out include a 188" TV Wall, 25 other TV's, billiards and an expanded menu.
The options for Irish Pubs in the area are essentially endless, but here are some additional places to visit this weekend–McSwiggan’s, Mulligan’s, The Shannon, O’Hara’s Downtown, PJ Ryan’s, or anywhere you see a flock of green.
