January is a slow month. It’s slow for businesses, shoppers — me trying to get out of bed in the morning. But there is a bright side. In effort to rev up sales, Restaurant Week was created. Originally started by Tim Zagat and Joe Baum (Zagat founder and acclaimed restauranteur), the movement has since spread to cities around the country and for the past 14 years, Hudson County.
Currently, the county’s best and brightest restaurants are gearing up their dining deals which will offer prix fixe menus for lunch and dinner. Whether it’s a trendy newcomer you’ve been meaning to check out or long-time NJ staple you just haven’t gotten around to, Hudson Restaurant Week is your chance to pay them a visit at a fraction of the price.
Not only do businesses benefit from this, but you as the consumer get to explore untapped foodie finds that you might not normally get the chance to. For Hudson County, this is a biannual event that takes place every January and July.
This year, the dates run from Monday, January 22 to Friday, February 2 — ironically well over a week, giving you plenty of time to eat to your heart’s desire. The only thing we ask is you make a reservation first.
