If there’s one thing we know, it’s that there’s no shortage of lunch spots in Hudson County. Serving up fresh and delicious Italian dishes, it’s no wonder Lisa’s Deli was our first choice when it came to reinstating The Digest Lunch Box. From salads to sandwiches and pastas, Lisa’s Deli is ideal for pickup or catering, and even offers a delivery service available to residents of Hoboken, Weehawken, Downtown Jersey City, and parts of Union City.
My personal idea of a perfect lunch pairing, our team enjoyed tasty salad and sandwich combos, including Lisa’s tossed salad and the Original Italian Hero Boy. The salad was made up of lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, Lisa’s homemade mozzarella, oregano and Italian dressing. And of course who wouldn’t swoon over homemade mozz?
The sandwich, an Italian meat lover’s dream, consisted of thinly sliced ham, salami, and pepperoni, all topped with more fresh mozz (no complaints here), lettuce, tomatoes, onions, red peppers, oregano and basil pesto. And perhaps equally as important in texture and taste was the bread, the perfect vessel with a crispy exterior and soft, chewy center.
Both hot and cold sandwich options range from $6.00 – $8.50 and their salad platters are $5.50 or $8.50, but of course we encourage you to give everything on their menu a try.
A definite crowd pleaser amongst The Digest family, we send our thanks to Lisa’s Deli, one of our favorite lunch spots in town.
