Did you know one pint of donated blood can save up to three lives?
NJ Running Company hopes to save as many lives as possible during its blood drive for the Blood Center of New Jersey on Feb. 15 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. right in the store on Washington Street.
According to the American Red Cross, the two most common reasons people do not donate blood are because they never even thought about it or they don’t like needles. I fit into the “I don’t like needles” group, but when I read that someone needs blood every two seconds in the U.S., I felt like a bit of a wimp for bypassing previous opportunities to donate.
Be sure to eat a hearty breakfast before attending, bring a photo ID, and know your social security number for registration. After successfully contributing, you’ll receive gifts courtesy of New Balance and Yelp.
