Pharma giant Bristol Myers Squibb will eliminate 516 jobs at its Lawrence Township offices over the next several months, according to a notice filed with the state.
The layoffs begin May 9 and are scheduled to continue through March 27, 2026, as outlined in a recent Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) submitted to the New Jersey Department of Labor.
The company previously announced 290 job cuts in the same township earlier this year, including 223 in March and 67 in February. All layoffs affect positions based in Lawrence Township, where Bristol Myers Squibb maintains two office buildings. The company has not specified which facilities will be impacted.
The pharmaceutical giant, headquartered in Princeton, employs roughly 30,000 people worldwide. The job reductions are tied to a broader cost-cutting effort aimed at achieving $2 billion in annual savings by the end of 2027.
According to the company, the savings will come through organizational restructuring and operational efficiencies. A spokesperson said affected employees have been notified and support will be provided during the transition.
The company’s restructuring plan is part of an expanded productivity initiative announced earlier this year.
