This year’s Fright Fest at Six Flags in Jackson, New Jersey includes six haunted houses, five designated scare zones, and six haunting shows. The festival kicks off on September 16 and goes until October 31. When the sun goes down, expect monsters and ghouls to follow you onto rides and coasters for the Rides in the Dark portion of Fright Fest. The park promises “thrills by day” and “fright by night.”
Fright Fest originated in 1988 at its Houston, Texas location. For 34 years, Six Flags has designed fright-filled activities for adrenaline junkies and fearless guests.
Fright Fest Features
Each scare zone is decorated with monsters, clowns, scarecrows, aliens, and other nightmarish creatures— perfect for Halloween festivities. Their new scare zone, Exile Canyon, mimics an abandoned mining town riddled with ghosts of the Gold Rush era.
Haunted houses like Big Top Terror, The Manor, Aftermath, Fears, Blood Shed and Reflections of the Dead feature haunting clowns, ghosts, apocalyptic mutants, spiders, dolls, and more. The haunted houses require a Haunted Attractions Pass, but you can buy bundled tickets, which include park admission and access to haunted houses.
Six Flags offers Halloween celebrations for all ages. Boo Fest includes family-friendly rides, a trick-or-treat trail, storytelling from a witch, and Scarecrow Street— filled with cornstalks and scarecrows. This year’s Boo Fest runs from September 17 to October 31.
