While both IMAX and 3D offer moviegoers a unique viewing experience, one could argue that going to the movies isn’t just about watching what’s on the screen. The newest in cinema technology, Showcase XPlus is bridging the gap between those looking for a large format, immersive experience, while the overall quality of audio and video is enhanced. Combining Dolby Atmos and a floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall screen, the act of watching and listening becomes easier, allowing viewers to become fully enveloped in the action. XPlus offers movies in both 2D and 3D format, just incase you are (or aren’t) a fan of wearing those signature glasses.
Lucky for us, Edgewater Multiplex Cinema is the only theater in New Jersey to offer an XPlus cinema experience, and it’s just a few minutes away. The theater has stadium-style seating with black leather recliner chairs and 69 speakers to ensure you not only see, but hear the film from every angle. We recently saw Ron Howard’s latest movie, “Inferno”, which starred Tom Hanks and Felicity Jones, and couldn’t imagine watching it any other way. From the dialogue that followed along with the pan of the camera, to the clarity of the European architecture, if you’re going to see “Inferno”, make sure to get the full XPlus experience.
