A recent list released by HGTV highlighted the most charming small towns in each of the 50 U.S. states.

Lambertville, NJ was highlighted for it’s artsy charm, home to dozens of artists and craftsman who run shops and galleries along the Delaware River. Lambertville has also been called “The Antiques Capital of New Jersey.”

HGTV states: “This town of 4,000 residents, founded in 1705, also boasts federal townhouses and Victorian homes, a restored 19th-century train depot, Zagat-rated restaurants and award-winning hotels and B&Bs.”

Because of this, Lambertville has become a day trip destination for shoppers across both New Jersey and Pennsylvania, considering it’s convenient location as a wedge between the two states.

Beyond shopping is historical value. Lambertville boasts a rich history. The Lambertville Historical Society headquarters is inside of a quaint house, which was once home to James Wilson Marshall, the man credited with discovering gold in California in 1848.
