Rep. Bill Pascrell of New Jersey Dies at 87, After 14 Terms in Congress

PATERsON, N.J. — Rep. Bill Pascrell Jr., a longtime Democratic congressman from New Jersey, died Wednesday at the age of 87. Pascrell, who served in the U.S. House of Representatives for 14 terms, was known for his dedication to his constituents and his deep ties to his hometown of Paterson.

Born and raised in Paterson, Pascrell was a fixture in New Jersey politics for decades. He began his political career in the New Jersey General Assembly before being elected to Congress in 1996. During his tenure, he focused on issues such as healthcare, veterans’ affairs, and public safety.
