Body Found in Morristown, Authorities Investigate ‘Suspicious’ Death

Authorities are investigating the death of a man found near railroad tracks in Morristown as suspicious, according to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

The body was discovered around 9 a.m. on June 13 near Patriots’ Path and Cory Road near the NJ Transit rail line.

Law enforcement from the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, Sheriff’s Office, Morristown Bureau of Police, and NJ Transit Police are conducting a joint investigation.

No details about the man’s identity or the nature of the circumstances have been released.

“This is an active investigation,” said Prosecutor’s Office spokesperson Meghan Knab. “At this point, the death is deemed suspicious.”

Patriots’ Path, maintained by the Morris County Parks Commission, spans 70 miles and is frequently used by hikers and cyclists.
