According to police, Shawn Negron ignited a mattress in his room at the Budget Motel in Landisville before fleeing the scene.

The fire caused damage to multiple rooms, forcing several tenants to evacuate. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Witness accounts and an investigation led authorities to identify Negron as the suspect behind the blaze.

Negron, 31, was located later that day at a nearby establishment and taken into custody. He now faces charges of second-degree arson, third-degree causing or risking widespread injury or damage, and third-degree criminal mischief. He is being held at the Atlantic County Correctional Facility.
