A major healthcare group—and Fortune 500 company—just cut New Jersey jobs for the fourth time this year.
The Cigna Group recently completed another round of layoffs. It is the fourth round at the NJ-based Cigna Evernorth Health Services in 2025.
In April, Cigna Evernorth announced layoffs for 62 employees at its Morris Plains offices. The reductions primarily impacted technology and operations staff. The layoffs initially began in March, with the most recent round taking place July 3.
Last year, Evernoth laid off 261 employees in Arizona in order to consolidate primary care.
Evernorth, launched by Cigna in 2020, provides pharmacy and benefits solutions and has offices in New Jersey and Missouri. Cigna, based in Connecticut, is a Fortune 500 company with over 64,000 employees worldwide and $247 billion in annual revenue.
It remains to be seen if more layoffs will take place.
