Several schools in South Jersey were closed Monday following an online threat. The threat, made through social media, targeted five schools across multiple districts, leading to the arrest of three juveniles.

Woodbury City Public Schools, Deptford Township School District, and other schools were named in the posts, prompting Woodbury and Deptford to cancel classes. Law enforcement identified one of the suspects as a 15-year-old from Mullica Hill, with others from Woodbury and Glassboro. No further details were provided on the suspects’ ages.

Officials from the Harrison Township Police Department confirmed the arrests early Monday. Woodbury and Deptford district officials stated the threat was not deemed credible, but schools were closed as a precaution. Superintendent Andrew Bell of Woodbury stressed the need for “extreme caution” to ensure student safety. All transportation services and extracurricular activities were also suspended.

Other districts, including Glassboro and Haddon Heights, remained open with increased police presence. The Haddon Heights Police Department stated that no credible threat existed but deployed additional officers to local schools.

Local law enforcement agencies, including the Deptford Township Police Department and South Jersey State Police, are continuing their investigation. Authorities have urged anyone with further information to contact them.

Classes and activities in the affected districts are expected to resume after officials review the situation with law enforcement.
