New Jersey State Police arrested two men after seizing more than $36 million worth of drugs during a traffic stop on February 18. Fnu Attiq Ur-Rahman, 22, and Haffez Rehman Ur, 35, both from Stockton, California, face multiple drug-related charges following the incident.

The arrest occurred during a routine inspection by the Mobile Safe Freight Unit on Interstate 78 East in Greenwich Township. Troopers conducted a commercial vehicle inspection on a tractor-trailer operated by Attiq Ur-Rahman. During the inspection, officers suspected the vehicle was transporting illegal substances, leading to a thorough search of the trailer.

Troopers discovered approximately 8,042.2 pounds of raw hydroponic marijuana, 12,062 pounds of various cannabis and THC products, and 13.4 pounds of psilocybin mushrooms. The total weight of the seized contraband reached an astonishing 20,117.6 pounds. It marks one of the largest drug busts in the area.

Both men were charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute psilocybin mushrooms, and possession of psilocybin mushrooms. The substantial amount of $36 million in drugs raises concerns about the distribution network operating in New Jersey and beyond.

According to a recent press release from the New Jersey State Police, Attiq Ur-Rahman and Haffez Rehman Ur remain in custody at the Warren County Correctional Center, awaiting a detention hearing. Authorities continue to investigate the case and the origins of the seized drugs.
