New Jersey State Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a woman whose body was discovered in a refrigerator at Belleplain State Forest on Dec. 22.
Authorities believe the deceased is a Caucasian or Hispanic female, approximately 5 feet 1 inch tall, with two distinctive tattoos: a koi fish on her upper right shoulder blade and a rose spanning her left ribs, from chest to hip.
At the scene, investigators also recovered a unique yoga mat and a necklace. Photos of the items and renderings of the tattoos have been released to aid identification efforts.
Belleplain State Forest, spanning over 21,000 acres in northern Cape May and eastern Cumberland counties, was the location of the grim discovery.
State Police have not disclosed additional details, citing the ongoing investigation.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the NJSP Woodbine Station at (609) 861-5698 or the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office at (609) 465-1135 ext. 3480. Anonymous tips are welcome.
