Three men are facing murder charges for the killing of Cumberland County Detective Sergeant Monica Mosley, authorities confirmed Monday evening. The 51-year-old was shot and killed in her Bridgeton home during an alleged home invasion on October 15.

Authorities charged Jared Brown, 31, of Bridgeton, Nyshawn Mutcherson, 29, of Vineland, and Richard Willis, 32, of Gloucester City with first-degree murder, burglary, and weapons offenses. A fourth suspect, Cyndia Pimentel, 38, of Paulsboro, faces charges of hindering apprehension, obstruction, and tampering with evidence.

Investigators state that the suspects entered Mosley’s home around 10:30 p.m. by forced entry. According to reports, Mosley fired her weapon, injuring Mutcherson, who was treated later that night, claiming he had been shot in Millville.

Following the incident, police used forensic evidence, cellphone data, and surveillance footage to track down the suspects. Investigators have not revealed a motive in the killing.

Mosley, a Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office veteran of nearly 20 years, began her career as a paralegal specialist in 2006 and was promoted to detective in 2009. She served in multiple units, including Internal Affairs, and was known as a respected leader among colleagues.

Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey Sutherland emphasized the pursuit of justice for Mosley, stating, “We remain committed to holding those responsible accountable.”

The investigation remains active, with New Jersey State Police and federal agencies assisting. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office.
