A Wayne, NJ resident’s worst fears came true early Wednesday morning when masked intruders broke into his home and entered his bedroom. According to police, the burglars had already swiped two key fobs from the first floor, but knowing there was a third car outside, they ventured upstairs, hoping to complete their haul.
Their plan unraveled when the homeowner woke up and sprang into action, forcing them to flee with nothing but the stolen fobs. It appears the burglars may have been searching for more items when the homeowner discovered them. Police said the suspects escaped in a light-colored sedan, leaving behind a broken window lock and a shaken but determined homeowner.
Authorities urge anyone with information on the incident to contact Wayne Police Dept. at 973-633-3530.
