Summer days in New Jersey should be spent on the beach, but when day turns to night, you need somewhere to spend the rest of your evening. Regardless of what kind of bar you prefer, New Jersey has you covered. Whether you want dinner by the beach, live music, or somewhere to dance – there’s a place for everyone. In no specific order, here are our top five Jersey Shore bars you shouldn’t skip this summer.

Bar Anticipation – Lake Como

Belmar / Lake "Perry" Como, New Jersey St. Patrick's Day Parade

If you’re heading out with a big group, Bar Anticipation, or Bar A, in Lake Como is a good option because of its large space and quantity of bars. Though not directly on the beach, Bar A’s sandy bar, which people call The Grotto, is a close second option. The bar has an indoor space to dance to a DJ and enjoy live music while there’s also room to mingle outside with friends and catch up. Bar A is known for its events and deals. Especially on Tuesdays, people love heading to Bar A for their Beat the Clock event because draft beers start at just 50 cents a pour.

Leggett’s Sand Bar – Manasquan

When you’re looking for somewhere to enjoy a drink and a casual night out, Leggetts in Manasquan is the place. This restaurant and bar offers the perfect place to sit with friends and enjoy drinks and maybe a pizza or two. Like the other beach bars, Leggetts loves a special. Every day there’s a different offer, so check their website. Are you a $3 Bud Light or a shot wheel person?

Bird and Betty’s – Long Beach Island

Bird and Betty’s know that every day is the weekend when summer hits. Open seven days a week, Bird and Betty’s offers different vibes from a fire pit to two floors to enjoy live music. In a place so big, it’s impossible not to find a spot that fits for you. To make nights stress-free, Bird and Betty’s offers a shuttle bus during the summer that will pick patrons up from anywhere in their set locations and bring them to the bar. What more could someone ask for?

Some might say the best Jersey bars are near Exit 100, but South Jersey likes to party too. If you’re a below-exit 50 beachgoer, check out the Dead Dog Saloon. The Dead Dog is a reprieve from hectic club nightlife. The tavern offers live acoustic music to enjoy. The Dead Dog is open every day during the summer, and like every good beach bar, offers different themes and daily specials!

Jenks Club is a hot spot for young people along the Jersey Shore. Located on the Point Pleasant Boardwalk, Jenks is a mixture of beach bar and dive. In typical Jersey style, the club has multiple bars, some indoor and some on the beach, to give their guests options. During the day, Jenks Club is the Jenkinson Pavilion, which offers an assortment of foods. At night, the club hosts live music from Friday through Sunday, and during the week. From early 2,000 cover bands to Springsteen Sundays, Jenks caters to all tastes.
