Best Idea We’ve Seen All Week: Bohemian Rhapsody Snow Day Message

by Lauren Scrudato

As a kid, there’s nothing better than receiving the message that school is cancelled, unless, of course, your principal sings it to you. That’s exactly what a principal and teacher in Boone County, Kentucky did to announce a school closure — to the rhythm of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody.”

This is our choice for The Best Idea We’ve Seen All Week because it transforms a normally mundane task that thousands of school officials have to do into something entertaining. It reminds students that their teachers and administration do indeed know how to have fun and aren’t all business all the time. This video also sets an example for students to get creative and think outside the box when completing assignments.

And to make it even more enjoyable, the two gentlemen in the video have great vocals (and hit those high notes).

“Everyone grab a Snuggie and watch TV, or play the Wii and maybe read!”
