How to Obtain Radiant Skin from the Inside Out

by Caroline Burns

Being a makeup artist looking beautiful is something I strive to do on a daily basis.   For me, it was a lifestyle change that came about a few years back when I decided to take an active leap and change my diet not only for health & fitness intentions but for skincare as well.  Since then I constantly get asked about how I keep my skin looking so young and fresh and below are my secrets on how to keep your skin glowing from the inside out.

What to Eat

It’s good to have some daily food for skin rituals consistently delicious combination of anti-aging & anti-oxidant ingredients for the skin.  Start you day with lemon water in the morning or any favorite citrus fruit will so.  Incorporating mixed berries with my oatmeal, avocado with a salad or with eggs, bananas as a snack and I always cooking with extra virgin olive oil are excellent ingredients for radiant skin.

The Benefits

Lemons are loaded with Vitamin C which lightens blemishes, spots evens skin tone and reduces wrinkles.  It’s also essential for production of collagen and keeps skin elastic.  You want to incorporate the good fats into your diet, by that I mean avocados, olive oil and nuts.   Avocados are loaded with vitamin E which is another anti-aging & anti-redness element and Omega-3’s which help reduce inflammation.   Mixed berries like blueberries, blackberries and strawberries are loaded with anti-oxidants which are help reduce inflammation, firm skin and reduce wrinkles.  Last but certainly not least are dark leafy greens like spinach and arugula contain Vitamin A which helps ward off acne.
