Two New Jersey bars were just named amongst the best bars in the nation by USA Today. The USA Today network has publications across the country, and they asked their food writers all over the US what their favorite bars were. The list was narrowed down to 27 total bars, and surprise, NJ makes up not one, but two entries on the list.

Tierney’s Tavern
138 Valley Rd, Montclair, NJ 07042
This Irish pub has become a staple in North Jersey. The Montclair watering hole attracts patrons of all ages with its vintage design, cold beer, friendly bartenders and amazing food. “The intrigue of the Hollywood elite, despite the tavern’s unassuming digs, comes as no surprise, though, in a place that has established itself as North Jersey’s ‘Cheers,’ but with better food,” writes Kara VanDooijeweert of northjersey.com.
Speaking of food, we named their secret-menu “Buddy Burger” one of the best burgers in North Jersey.

Wonder Bar

Wonder Bar encapsulates what the Asbury Park community is all about. With its iconic artwork on the side of the building and the regular live music from local artists, Wonder Bar has become not just famous in Asbury Park, but across the whole of NJ, too. It’s a place of legend, and one that is more than deserving of its national recognition.
