Former Rutgers football star Eric LeGrand is set to open his own coffee shop in his hometown of Woodbridge, New Jersey. Rightfully named LeGrand Coffee House, the storefront will open in late summer 2021.

On top of being an entrepreneur, LeGrand is an inspiring motivational speaker and philanthropist. He frequently finds himself speaking to large crowds, urging them to seize the day and create opportunities from their disadvantages. LeGrand was injured in 2010 while on the football field, and it resulted in him becoming paralyzed. However, the injury didn’t stop him from creating opportunities and living his life.

In 2013, he launched his own foundation called Team LeGrand, and it has since raised over one million dollars. LeGrand is often a guest speaker at schools, making him well known amongst the student population. I first met LeGrand in 2014 during a high school assembly.

About LeGrand Coffee House

LeGrand’s coffee house idea has been brewing since the summer of 2020 and the online store finally opened on January 12, 2020. While the physical location in Woodbridge is still under construction, coffee is available for purchase online through the website. The coffees range from medium roast to dark roast with the option of buying ground coffee or whole beans. The 12 oz. coffee bags come in three varieties: Sumatra, Costa Rica, and Guatemala. Each bag creates 10-12 cups of coffee. Ever the inspirational person, LeGrand calls a cup of his coffee “Daily Cup of bELieve.”

The reviews for the coffee have been positive thus far, with attests from celebrities such as Bryan Cranston of “Breaking Bad” and ESPN’s Hannah Storm. Once the coffee shop opens its brick-and-mortar location, it plans on including baked goods and other food items alongside the coffee.

LeGrand’s coffee shop’s motto is “Coffee. Comfort. Satisfaction.” According to their Instagram, the coffee strives to help coffee lovers “attack their goals each and every day.” More about the shop is to come soon!
