Habit Burger & Grill is getting bigger in New Jersey.
The California-based burger chain is lining up multiple new locations across the state, signaling confidence in New Jersey’s fast-casual dining market.
Two restaurants are already underway.
Habit Burger has flagged two locations as “coming soon” on their website. Englewood and Woodbridge will be the two newest restaurants in a network that has expanded to 17 New Jersey Habit Burger.
It’s no surprise. Habit Burger has been consistently expanding their Garden State footprint in the 2020s. And the brand is not finished yet. Soon, a third site could push the brand into new territory.
Developers have submitted plans for a 2,426-square-foot Habit Burger & Grill in Brick Township—the first in Ocean County. Local planning officials are scheduled to review the proposal this week. Approval would clear the way for Habit’s first Ocean County restaurant.
Founded in 1969 in Santa Barbara, Habit Burger & Grill built its reputation on charbroiled burgers cooked over an open flame—a method the brand still utilizes today. The menu goes beyond burgers, including grilled chicken, salads, fresh-cut fries, onion rings, and hand-spun milkshakes. Habit is a step above traditional fast food, while maintaining accessible prices and high quality.
If the Brick Township proposal moves forward, it would signal that Habit sees room to grow not just in North Jersey and Central Jersey, but along the Shore as well.
