A new restaurant is coming to Maplewood, NJ, adding yet another sought-after dining destination to the Essex County hot spot. Chef James De Sisto, owner of Laboratorio Kitchen in Montclair, has unveiled his forthcoming restaurant: Osteria LK.
Like Laboratorio Kitchen, Osteria LK will place a heavy focus on farm-to-table cooking and simple flavors—a style that De Sisto has mastered at his first restaurant. What sets Osteria LK apart from its predecessor is De Sisto’s full attention to showcasing authentic Italian cooking.
It makes sense—Osteria LK will be located in the space formerly occupied by Arturo’s (now Artie’s). The space will once again dish out brick oven pizzas and hand-made pasta in the intimate dining room, which has gone through a full renovation. Pasta is nothing new for fans of Laboratorio Kitchen, but adding a pizza oven to De Sisto’s arsenal is perhaps the most exciting part about the anticipated opening.
“I can’t wait to bring Osteria LK to Maplewood and share my love for Italian specialties with this vibrant community,” says De Sisto. “Like the traditional osteria in Italy, we want to be a welcoming spot where locals gather for delicious food simply prepared.”
Osteria LK is a BYO and guests are welcome to bring their favorite bottle of wine. Additionally, the restaurant will be open for lunch in addition to dinner and offer take-out daily.
Keep your eyes peeled for Osteria LK on social media—coming this Spring.
Osteria LK will open at 180 Maplewood Ave, Maplewood, NJ
