February, the shortest month of the year, is always packed with the “big game,” some romance, and a good bit of history to help us remember the struggles and successes of the African American community, as well as support those black-owned businesses making their way in the world today.

This year, we have the Super Bowl and Valentine’s Day on back-to-back days, so whether it is the team you love or the person you love, we have some exciting selections to make both days special!

Here are 3 of our favorite beers for both the”big game” and the most romantic day of the year!

A quintessential Provencal rosé from the south of France, Chateau du Berne makes this special rose 25 miles north of St Tropez. A delicate pink color, beautifully floral nose, and flavors of crisp pear and blood oranges touched with a kiss of raspberry. A perfect gift to show your emotions for the one you love!

Comtesse de Belle Rêverie Nectar Rosé

Who wouldn’t want a bottle of rosé champagne for Valentine’s Day? And what a bottle this is!  A Pinot Noir dominant blend, with a bright pink color that is packed with aromas of wild strawberries and blackberries, which continue on to the palate, which is very rich and very elegant. Potent, yet creamy, and vibrantly fresh.

Domaine Ott Chateau de Selle Rosé

A classic producer in an elegant, shapely bottle! Pink with hints of gold, aromas of orchid flowers and citrus blossom, and incredible elegance in the glass. Subtle flavors of white and stone fruits with a gentle lemony edge and a sweet, fruit-filled finish. The best way to show your love is with a glass of this wine.

Black History Month Picks

February is Black History month, a time for us to all remember the contributions of African Americans.   One way to do that is to support black-owned businesses, and here are two rosé wines that are perfect for Valentine’s Day!

Maison Noir Love Drunk Rosé

This fantastic rose is made by Maison Noir, a fantastic winery owned and operated by sommelier and designer, Andre Hueston Mack, of Thomas Keller’s the French Laundry and Per Se. Love Drunk is a rosé that aims to capture the heady and intoxicating state of those newly in love, the sparkling eyes, the glowing cheeks.  Aromas of raspberry and strawberry are so enticing and compliment the flavors of wild strawberries, watermelon rind, and a kiss of sweet kiwi!

McBride Sisters Brut Rosé

Robin and Andrea McBride, half-sisters, grew up in wine country on opposite sides of the planet. One in Monterey and the other in New Zealand, they both had a passion for winemaking. After finally meeting, they now own the largest black-owned wine company in the U.S., and are making fantastic wines in both countries!  Check out this Brut Rosé Sparkler from New Zealand. Packed with crushed red berries, strawberries, cranberries, and rose petals on a creamy finish. A great gift for anyone!
