A loose bull was spotted running on NJ Transit tracks at Newark Penn Thursday morning, causing hour-long train delays. Officials state the bull, which could be seen running up and down the tracks, was safely captured.
Because of the sheer number of people who ride through Newark Penn every day, there are many documented accounts of the peculiar incident circulating online. It’s not all that uncommon for NJ Transit to experience unexpected delays, but this is something entirely new for NJ commuters. After all, it’s not every day that you see a bull—horns and all—on your commute to work in New Jersey.
The situation is especially strange as it has yet to be solved where the bull even came from. It is assumed that the bull escaped somewhere near Newark Liberty International Airport. Newark officials clarified that the bull was tranquilized and brought into the Skylands Animal Sanctuary and Rescue where it was safely held.
The bull has been named Ricardo.
