In the eyes of football enthusiasts, no game day is complete without some pre-game fun. On Feb. 12, the Meadowlands Expo Center in Secaucus is welcoming people from all over to join them for the Great Beer Expo in NJ. The biggest names in the brewing industry will be in attendance at the expo. Attendees only have to pay one price to try out all the beers of their choice. 2022 will be their 11th year hosting New Jersey’s biggest pre-game tailgate party.
What to Expect at The Great Beer Expo
According to their official website, you can expect to see the “showcasing of local hometown Jersey favorites, award-winning American craft breweries, and international trend-setters.” Also, since it is a tribute to football pre-game fun, attendees can wear their favorite football team’s jersey. It doesn’t matter whether you are a New York Giants or a Jets fan, for one day, those differences are set aside. The purpose is to come together to express your love of a good, cold beer.
Some brewing companies that will take part are Alternate Ending Beer Co., Seven Tribesmen Brewery, Ghost Hawk Brewing Company and Little Dog Brewing Co. Before attending the event, it is important to check their website and know what COVID-19 regulations are in place at the event. As of today, they are requiring that you have proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result.
Something to note is that beer will be served in 2-ounce samples. The expo advises that you drink responsibly and know what your limits are. Other than beer sampling, attendees can enjoy other exhibitions such as food vendors, axe throwing, the quarterback blitz inflatable football toss and a parade with the participation of the Drum and Bugle Corps.
How To Buy Tickets
You can purchase tickets to the Great Beer Expo through their official website. The general admission ticket starts at $55 when purchased in advance. If you wait until the actual date of the event, the general admission price goes up to $70. The price includes all the beer sampling you would ever want, a 5-ounce tasting cup and free parking. There is also a “designated driver” ticket option which means that you can go into the event but can’t drink. You will be given a water bottle as a substitute.
All that attend the Great Beer Expo must be 21 and older. There will be no admission to people 21 and under such as children and pets are not allowed. A valid form of an I.D. must be shown in order to be admitted to the event. This rule goes for both general admission and designated driver ticket holders.
