If your idea of the perfect summer weekend includes live music, local artists, amazing food, and spending the day outdoors with friends and family, then make plans to head to Maplewood this weekend for Maplewoodstock Music + Art Festival.
Now celebrating more than two decades, this beloved community festival returns to Memorial Park (580 Valley Street) on Saturday, July 11, and Sunday, July 12, with festivities kicking off at noon each day. Best of all? Admission is completely free.
Maplewoodstock has become one of New Jersey’s premier summer festivals, bringing together more than 20 live musical acts, over 50 local artists and craft vendors, delicious food vendors, a beer garden, and activities for the entire family. Organized entirely by volunteers, the festival has been showcasing local talent and building community since 2004.
Music for Every Taste
This year’s lineup is packed with talent. Saturday night features funk favorites Lettuce, with Slap Dragon taking the stage beforehand. Sunday’s headliner is acclaimed singer-songwriter Anders Osborne, following a performance by Megan Jean’s Secret Family. Throughout both days, festival-goers can enjoy performances spanning rock, reggae, blues, Americana, jazz, R&B, indie, and more from musicians across New Jersey and beyond.
Shop Local While You Listen
One of the highlights of Maplewoodstock is its impressive collection of local artists and makers. Browse handcrafted jewelry, paintings, photography, ceramics, home décor, and unique gifts while supporting independent artists and small businesses.
It’s the perfect opportunity to discover something one-of-a-kind while supporting the local creative community.
Come Hungry
From festival favorites to sweet treats and everything in between, the food vendors offer plenty of delicious options throughout the weekend. Grab lunch, enjoy dinner while listening to live music, or cool off with dessert before exploring the artisan booths.
A Family-Friendly Summer Tradition
Families will find plenty to enjoy with a Kid Zone, open green space for picnics, community art exhibits, and entertainment throughout the day. The festival’s welcoming atmosphere makes it easy to spend a few hours – or the entire weekend, taking it all in.
NJ Digest Tip
Bring a blanket or lawn chairs, sunscreen, and your walking shoes. Spend some time exploring the vendor booths between performances, and if you find an artist or small business you love, consider following them on social media or making a purchase. Supporting local creators is one of the best ways to keep New Jersey’s vibrant arts community thriving.
