New Jersey might be small in stature, but it offers big things to do. The Garden State remains a treasure trove of culture, history, and pure fun. Whether you’re hunting for jaw-dropping views, history lessons, or just a classic burger, the state has something for everyone.

Recently, WorldAtlas revealed the eight best attractions to visit in New Jersey, and we’re breaking them down for you.

1. Grounds For Sculpture

This 42-acre outdoor gallery in Hamilton is home to over 300 contemporary sculptures, weaving between manicured gardens and crystal-clear ponds.Designed by philanthropist J. Seward Johnson, the park also features indoor galleries, seasonal installations, and Rat’s Restaurant, inspired by Monet’s Giverny. Adding to the artsy vibe? Colorful peacocks freely roaming the grounds.

2. Sterling Hill Mining Museum

Ogdensburg’s former zinc mine glows. Literally. With over 700 naturally glow-in-the-dark minerals on display, tours take you underground to see the old mining equipment, the Change House, and the incredible Color Wall, where minerals illuminate under an ultraviolet light.

3. Liberty State Park

In many ways, the Statue of Liberty stands as a beacon of freedom—an iconic symbol of America. Did you know it’s in New Jersey? Liberty State Park in Jersey City is home to skyline views, the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island trips, and Manhattan. Ferries take visitors for even closer views of these legendary landmarks.

4. White Manna Burgers

This is a true pilgrimage for burger lovers. White Manna in Hackensack, not to be confused with Jersey City’s White Mana, is a classic diner that specializes in addicting burger sliders. Fresh ground beef, grilled onions, melty American cheese, and steamed Martin’s Potato Rolls have earned White Manna national acclaim.

5. Liberty Science Center

Within Liberty State Park, the Liberty Science Center is a hands-on playground for curious minds. And it’s not just for the kids. Home to the Western Hemisphere’s largest planetarium, live animal exhibits, dinosaur simulations, and interactive science experiments, it’s a jam-packed experience for the entire family.

6. Holsten’s

This Bloomfield diner rose to national fame when it was featured in the final scene of The Sopranos. But, for locals, it’s been a thing long before that. Since 1939, Holsten’s has served homemade ice cream, milkshakes, burgers, and other diner classics. The vintage charm of chrome stools and tabletop jukeboxes makes it a timeless stop. Don’t worry, your meal won’t cut to black.

7. Paterson Great Falls National Historical Park

Witness 77 feet of aquatic power at Paterson Great Falls. The urban waterfall stands today as a historical landmark in the heart of Paterson. Visitors can learn how the falls powered America’s first planned industrial city while enjoying the dramatic views and guided tours that explore both nature and history. A trip to the Great Falls is like stepping back in time.

8. Atlantic City Boardwalk

No Jersey list is complete without the legendary Atlantic City Boardwalk. Long before casinos took over, the boardwalk connected beachgoers to local attractions. Today, it’s still the perfect summer destination: ride the Steel Pier Wheel, watch taffy being made at Fralinger’s, grab a pizza, or simply stroll while taking in the beauty of New Jersey’s shoreline.
