Police have launched an investigation after multiple hidden cameras were discovered in public restrooms along the Ocean City boardwalk this week.
Authorities were first alerted Thursday when a woman reported finding a device disguised as a pen inside a bathroom at 6th Street and the Boardwalk. Officers searched other facilities and located additional camera devices in restrooms near 10th and 11th streets.
The restrooms are family-style units commonly used by beachgoers to change clothes.
Ocean City officials said uniformed officers will now be stationed at the affected locations and will conduct routine checks. No arrests have been made.
“I want to assure the public that our detectives will use every available resource to find the person who placed these cameras,” Mayor Jay Gillian said in a statement.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Ocean City police at 609-525-9131 or email Lt. Dan Lancaster at [email protected].
